Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, engaging Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide part-time, one-on-one support to a young adult male in his home and community. This role focuses on personal care, movement and wellness, seizure awareness and response.
We are seeking a compassionate, engaging Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide part-time, one-on-one support to a young adult male in his home and community. This role focuses on personal care, movement and wellness, seizure awareness and response.
Schedule:
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Mondays and every other weekend
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) in a respectful, person-centered manner
- Provide seizure care, including monitoring, following established protocols, and ensuring safety
- Engage actively with him throughout the day, not just during care tasks
- Accompany and support him in the community (errands, activities, social outings)
- Help build and strengthen community connections and natural supports
- Encourage independence, dignity, and choice
- Communicate clearly and appropriately with family regarding routines, health, and needs
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification a plus!
- Experience with seizure care or willingness to be trained
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle in good working order (required)
- Comfortable with supporting community-based activities
- Experience with in-home care or individuals with disabilities preferred
Compensation: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
