Awake Overnight Support Staff Professional

We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and attentive Support Staff Professional (SSP) to provide awake overnight support to a wonderful 21-year-old young man with autism and other disabilities in his family home.

About the Position
This is an awake overnight position. You must remain awake, alert, and attentive for the entire 11:00 PM–7:00 AM shift.
Most nights are quiet and peaceful, but the right person will be prepared to provide support whenever it is needed. Responsibilities may include personal care, diaper changes, repositioning, providing reassurance if he wakes, and helping him return to sleep using his established nighttime routines.
He is a kind and engaging young man who does best with caregivers who are patient, reassuring, consistent, and attentive to his needs.
What You'll Do
- Remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the entire shift
- Provide personal care, including diaper changes and hygiene support
- Assist with repositioning and comfort needs
- Provide reassurance and support if he wakes during the night
- Help him return to sleep using established routines and supports
- Maintain a calm, safe, and comfortable environment
- Monitor for health and safety concerns
- Follow his support plan and established nighttime routines
- Provide appropriate support during occasional challenging behaviors
- Communicate important information to family members and daytime staff

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to pass required background checks
- Reliable transportation
Experience That Is Helpful
- 1–3 years of experience in caregiving, direct support, healthcare, nannying, or a related field
- Experience supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Experience providing personal care
- Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviors is a plus
Previous experience is helpful, but the right attitude, reliability, patience, and willingness to learn are just as important.
